| | | | With more than 25 years of experience collaborating with physicians and the healthcare community on quality improvement initiatives, Healthcare Quality Strategies, Inc., (HQSI) supports primary care practices in a wide range of activities focused on office redesign processes to improve and enhance access to clinical information. Since 2005, HQSI has supported and assisted New Jersey primary care practices through the various phases of adoption and implementation of electronic health record (EHR) systems. Continuing to build upon that foundation, HQSI is working with primary care physician practices in New Jersey to implement strategies to improve the quality of care Medicare beneficiaries receive on select measures: | Cancer screenings (mammography and colorectal cancer [CRC]) |
| Immunizations (influenza and pneumococcal)
|
HQSI is assisting practices by promoting the integration of interventions supporting the use of EHR systems. HQSI provides consultative and technical assistance to help practices optimize the use of their EHR systems to increase screening and reminders and implement population care management. HQSI provides a variety of educational opportunities through tool kits, online educational resources, and on-site visits, as well as process redesign assistance. Free Cultural Competency Training Physicians can become more familiar with how to address cultural diversity in their practices. They can take the Physician’s Practical Guide to Culturally Competent Care training program. It’s a free, hands-on, e-learning tool designed for physicians to improve the health of racial and ethnic minority patients in their practices. This course provides up to nine CMEs upon completion. Multicultural Health Care: A Quality Improvement Guide The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has developed a free web-based, Multicultural Health Care: A Quality Improvement Guide for organizations interested or already engaged in quality improvement initiatives. This guide, coupled with the online resource library, provides assistance in applying quality improvement methods for culturally and linguistically appropriate services (CLAS). | |
